Glazing and Decorating

I am having much problem with this glaze running and dripping. I mixed the glaze as per instructions. Would it be ok to thin this more?

I have been adding silicon carbide or granular rutile to various lowfire commercial glazes(primarily metallic glazes) for years now to produce various mottled/textured surfaces. I prefer it in the metallic glazes because it breaks up the shiny and smooth surface. Does anyone else have glaze additives they enjoy and what glazes do they modify??
