My husband and I are interested in mixing glazes. Does the mesh count of the sieve make a significant difference? Thanks.

Baby Hand and Footprints

I am doing a baby platter for a client. In the past, I have used iron oxide painted on the baby's hands and feet, then imprinted onto cone 05 bisque, then fire to cone 6. Are there other oxides that might be safe for this process? Has anyone used glazes for this process (instead of oxides)?

Can I use Silica 325 as a substitute for flint in a cone 6 glaze containing nepheline syanite and ball clay?

Just curious if anyone has any unique or interesting cone 6 varigated/flowing glazes? I've seen many a floating blue recipe but I want to know if anybody has any other of this style that they really like.
