Earthstone

This is an excellent clay composition for general studio work where extreme whiteness is not essential. The firing range is ideal: demonstrating good uniformity in shrinkage over the heats from cone 1 to cone 8 with continued uniformity in color response.

Brown Iron

Brown IronBrown IronThis blackbird based body fires to a rich brown tone at cone 6. Essentially, this is a stone ware composition with minor additions of potash feldspar and flint. In addition to Kentucky ball clays, the principal ingredient is a high quality Ohio red burning plastic Clay.

Sandy White

Sandy WhiteSandy WhiteThis 'fool proof" clay is an excellent, plastic throwing stoneware body. Fires to a sandy white color at a cone 6.This is a unique composition in that it is composed principally of selected clays which incorporate alkalis to generate fired strength in the absence of feldspar. Flint is added for additional strength.


Porcelain

PorcelainPorcelainExcellent wheel throwing or flower making body. Thin vitreous pieces possess the translucency of fine porcelain. This clay can be fired between cones 6 and 9. Very plastic body. Shrinkage 30%.
This composition more closely approaches the conventional Flint-sparflint body typical of American sanitary wares and insulator bodies. It derives its fired strength through the judicious use of both potash feldspar and nepheline syenite. The English china clays provide both workability and whiteness. PLEASE CALL FOR


Toast

ToastToastA good all purpose clay, extremely workable and versatile. Fires to a warm light brown in color, when fired to a cone 6. Principal ingredients in this clay body are Ohio yellow clay, Tennessee ball clay and a manganese bearing clay. A Missouri fire clay contributes to both forming and firing qualities. The slight but even change in shrinkage and absorption as temperature increases indictaes and even, regular and predictable firing range. PLEASE CALL FOR AVAILABILITY.
